Loveland Pass Incident Serves As A Reminder That You Can’t Car Camp Wherever You Want (Unofficial Networks.com)

An incident that occurred along Highway 6 in Colorado serves as a reminder that you can’t just camp wherever along the road, even if you’re close to a ski area. A group of campers in several vehicles pulled over and set up camp along the Loveland Pass section of Highway 6, lighting a large bonfire that reached over 5 feet high for the New Year. Passers-by noticed the fire and reported it to deputies out of concern. As it turns out, the campers incorrectly believed it was legal to set up camp on the side of the highway and light a large fire. Summit Fire arrived on scene to fully extinguish the fire, and everyone packed up and moved on. Read more ...
