Summit County fire officials moved the fire danger rating down two levels, from extreme to high. Despite the drop, Stage 2 fire restrictions remain in place.  According to Matt Benedict, the division chief of wildfire and community preparedness with the Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District, the change in fire danger rating came as a result of heavy rain on Wednesday.
